Daddy! Marine! America x Mommy! Reader: New Life, New Home, New Memories

You tapped the 'end call' button on your phone and sighed. You walked down the hallway to your kids' room. Quietly, you saw your two sleeping children, Amelia and Andrew. Amelia was named after Amelia Earhart, because Alfred looked up to her as an inspiration. Your daughter just so happened to have a love for the air, so her name was practically perfect for her. Amelia had your [e/c] eyes, and Alfred's blonde hair. She was energetic just like her father, and never had a serious moment. Andrew on the other hand, was timid. He had all of your features. Your [h/c] hair, [e/c] eyes, and sweet tone. The only thing he had really inherited from his father was his one-hundred-dollar smile and tallness.

Smiling, you closed the door, and returned your focus onto your thoughts. You and Alfred were thinking of purchasing a new house. You thought it was a great idea, since the current house you were living in wasn't suiting you, and the kids could have separate rooms. Only thing is, with every house you picked, either you didn't like it, he didn't like it, it was in a bad neighbourhood, it was in bad shape; the possibilities were endless.

You sprawled out across your bed, massaging your temples. It was tiring to look for a house that you two could compromise on. Not to mention the fact that Alfred was in Iraq, so picking a house was harder than it already was. 'At least he's okay over there..." You thought. It's true; Iraq was dangerous, but it wasn't as bad as it was before. Yawning, your stretched to turn off the light. You sighed once again, and decided to end this long, tiring day.

"How about this one?" Al asked, pulling up a picture on your screen.

"What kinda neighborhood is it in?" You asked, arching an eyebrow. Alfred paused, his crystal blue eyes going back and forth beneath his glasses as he read.

"Nevermind." He sighed. You leaned back into your chair, rubbing your eyes.

"OH!" He shouted, making you jump. "Here's one!"

"Alfred...." Your voice trailed off. This is the third time that he thought he found a good one.

"No, I swear it's good this time [Name]! It's a good price, in a good neighborhood, and the schools are awesome! It's perfect!" He was excited as a schoolboy getting his first girlfriend. You shook your head. He could act like such a kid sometimes. While you were enwrapped with your thoughts of your foolish husband, he pulled up the house on your screen.

"Wow.." You trailed off once more. "It really is good..."

"SEE! I told ya so, [Name]!" He said, a smirk plastered on his face. "Now, who's the hero?"

"You are.." You muttered, darting your eyes to the side. Alfred laughed triumphantly, doing his own 'I told you so' dance. You couldn't help but laugh at this act.

"So, we buyin' it?" He asked, ancipation flowing through his voice. You kept looking through the pictures, and Al was right; it was a nice home. Three rooms, three bathrooms, two stories..... everything was in check with the house. Not to mention that the price was basically a steal.

"Sure, why not?" You smiled, sighing in relief. Alfred wore his usual grin, relief washing over him as well.

"Well then, it's settled. We're buyin' this house!" He exclaimed. The two of you proceeded to talk about how Amelia and Andrew would have separate rooms - which in your opinion was a life and energy saver - and not to mention that you two would have your own room together; on the second floor. This meant that you and Alfred could do whatever you wanted because your two children were on the first floor.

About one hour later, you and Alfred ended your skype call. Man, it seemed like you had millions of those. As soon as you shut your laptop once more, Amelia slipped into your room.

"Mom, me and Andrew wanted to ask you-" Amelia cut herself off when she looked up to see Andrew; or so she thought. Andrew was in another part of the house, with his nose stuck in a book. She stomped her foot on the floor, and huffed out a breath.

"ANDREW!!" She cried, tapping her foot. "GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE!" In a matter of seconds, Andrew was coming around the corner, rubbing his ear.

"W-why do you have to scream so loud?" He asked timidly. You shook your head. It looked ridiculous. Those two looked ridiculous. A short girl yelling at a 12 year old giant. And Andrew's voice getting deeper wasn't helping it.

"Why do you not follow me?" She shot back, arching an eyebrow.

"Why don't you ask me the question, Amelia?" You said, interrupting their quarrel. She cleared her throat, and tugged Andrew to her side.

"We wanted to ask you if you knew where we're gonna live?" She asked, shifting her weight on her feet.

"Don't worry about it. The only thing you have to worry about is packing your things. We're leaving next week, so go ahead and start packing."

"But mom-" Amelia started but got cut off.

"No butts. You know you have a lot of clothes Amelia. You too, Andrew. Make sure you get everything. Amelia, make sure you get your clothes, your nail polishes, and your posters. Andrew, make sure you get your clothes, sketch books, and books. Got it?" You asked.

    "Got it." They said simultaneously.

"Come on Andrew.." Amelia sighed, pulling Andrew along. He hung his head. He was always being pulled around like this by his sister. You sighed and looked around your room. You had memories in this room, in this house. But you were moving on to a new house, where you would have more memories and good times.
..................................................................................................................................................................................

The car slowly stopped, the tires crunching under the gravel. You unbuckled your seat-belt and stepped outside of your car.

"Here we are!" You exclaimed, breathing a sigh of happiness. Amelia emerged from out of the back seat, tugging Andrew with her.

"Ow, my shoulder popped!" Andrew screeched.

"Wow, look at this place! It's beautiful!" She swooned, not paying attention to her agitated brother. You sighed once more, and walked up to the porch. Amelia was fidgeting with excitement, and poor Andrew was rubbing his shoulder as you were fiddling with the keys to your new oasis. Sliding the key in the lock, you unlocked the door. The door swung open, creaking with adventure. Your jaw dropped at the sight of what you saw.

There was Alfred, standing there with his goofy grin. Amelia shrieked in surprise.

"DAD!" She screamed, running towards him. Andrew peered inside, and he too started running towards his father. You stood there in awe, slowly walking towards your husband and children.

"H-how, a-and when...?" You drifted, astonishment and surprise flowing through your voice. Alfred chuckled and pulled you into a bear hug.

"I'm gonna be home for a long while." He whispered, kissing your forehead. He wiped a tear that was beginning to roll down your face.

"I love you so much.." You whispered back to him, and reached up to hug him once more.

"I love you too." He said. You could feel him smile against your neck. He looked at you with his dazzling blue eyes, and connected his lips with yours. Immediately, you heard Amelia comment.

"EWW!" She looked away from the sight. Andrew shook his head.

"I thought it was cute..." He whispered, looking away as well. A light pink blush dusted his cheeks. You and Al couldn't help but chuckle at your children. They were polar opposites. You looked at your loving husband, and smiled up at him. You could tell that this was going to open a new chapter in your life. This was your new home, and it was going to be the center of love and attention. As they say: 'A new life, a new home, and new memories are bound to come with it'.

    "... Welcome home, Alfie......"
